The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

MLB NEWS AND NOTES
Saturday’s Streaking And Slumping Starting Pitchers

Streaking

Mark Buehrle (8-7, 4.24 ERA), Chicago White Sox

The long-time White Sox ace is rounding into form. The southpaw hurler has guided the Chi-Sox to a 6-1 record in his last seven trips to the bump. Buehrle’s delivered quality starts in each of his last six outings and the under is 4-2 over the same stretch.

Better yet, he hasn’t been priced higher than -156 in any of his last 10 starts even though the Sox are 8-2 in those games.

Trevor Cahill (9-3, 2.94 ERA), Oakland Athletics

This young righty has been money in the bank for A’s backers all season. Oakland is 9-2 in Cahill’s last 11 starts while the under is 10-3-2 in his 15 starts this season. One more mouthwatering note: The A’s are 5-0 in his last five road outings.

Slumping

Matt Cain (6-8, 3.34 ERA), San Francisco Giants

This hard-throwing righty’s stock is dropping. Sure, he can bring the heat, but San Fran never gives him any run support. The Giants are 0-5 in his last five trips to the mound and he carries a hefty 8.73 ERA over the five-game stretch.

Returning/Slumping

Rick Porcello (4-7, 6.14 ERA), Detroit Tigers

Porcello ran into a major sophomore slump following his memorable 2009 campaign. His performance was so dreadful that the Tigers sent him down to the minors in June. He’s scheduled to pitch on Saturday because the team’s in a tough spot with the doubleheader.

"It's one start," manager Jim Leyland told the Detroit Free Press. "It doesn't mean he's back in the rotation. It's just one start. We'll play it by ear from that point on. As it stands right now, he's coming up to pitch a game against the Indians, and that's all it means.”

Porcello has made four starts in the minors, with two gems and two duds.

HOT LINES

Saturday's Best MLB Bets

Philadelphia Phillies at Chicago Cubs (-105)

Despite winning the first two games after the All-Star break, it appears the Cubs will remain in the seller’s market before the trade deadline.

Starting pitcher Ted Lilly met with general manager Jim Hendry on Thursday to discuss his future with the team. Lilly said that he could not divulge what was talked about in the meeting but his start Friday against the Phillies was more than likely an audition for suitors. Lilly went seven strong innings where he surrendered three earned runs and recorded 10 strikeouts.

"He wants to stay here and we'd like for him to stay here,” manager Lou Piniella said. “At the same time, you never know what's going to happen, and for a veteran pitcher like Teddy or a veteran player, just go do your job and whatever happens, happens.”

Every member of the Cubs club is looking over his shoulder right now, wondering if he will be the next trade candidate in the headlines. And when players are spooked by their own shadow, it’s difficult to find success on the field.

"I like it quiet anyway so if stuff leaks out, it doesn't come from me," Piniella said of discussing trades with Hendry. "There are always leaks, but if I don't know anything about it, it can't come from me."

While Sweet Lou pleads the fifth, there is no way Chicago is going to steal a full series from the Phillies. Cole Hamels is coming off a stellar performance against Cincinnati and a price this low (-115) is just too good to pass up.

Pick: Philadelphia Phillies

Toronto Blue Jays at Baltimore Orioles (+115, 9)

How about a fresh start on your betting account? A clean slate can do worlds for some people and Yunel Escobar is hoping for that type of result.

Escobar was dealt from the Braves to Toronto during the All-Star break in a five-player deal. The 27-year-old shortstop had fallen out of favor with manager Bobby Cox in Atlanta because the skipper believed Escobar gave a lackadaisical effort in the field.

"There was a problem (in Atlanta)," Escobar said. "I feel bad that I was getting a label I don't think I deserved. I was giving it my all when I was in Atlanta, so I can't say I would have played any different.

“I welcome the opportunity to play for a new team and get a fresh start for the second half. I'm really happy to get the opportunity to prove myself once again.”

Escobar joins a powerful, home run hitting lineup in Toronto. Through 75 games this season, Escobar was hitting just .238 with no homers and 19 RBIs. He hit .299 and .288 in his first two full seasons in the big leagues with a total of 24 jacks and 136 RBIs.

Look for Escobar to rebound in the second half and the Jays to rally around their newest member Saturday while cooling off the Orange Birds.

Pick: Toronto Blue Jays

WNBA NEWS AND NOTES
2010 WNBA POWER RANKINGS

TEAM (last week) W / L NOTES
1
Seattle (1) 17-2 Wednesday's 111-107 triple-overtime win over the Phoenix Mercury stretched Seattle's win streak to eight straight. If there's one thing they took from the game, other than a hard-earned 'W,' it's that teams will be pushing even harder in the second half of the season to try and not only hand the Storm a loss, but to also make a strong playoff push. Next on tap for Seattle is the Ly*x, a team that already handed the Atlanta Dream a loss and Conference demotion Wednesday afternoon. It'll be interesting to see what Minnesota throws at Seattle on Saturday.
Next Three Games: 7/17 at Minnesota, 7/20 at San Antonio, 7/25 vs. Tulsa

2
Atlanta (2) 14-6 "It's not about how you start, it's how you finish. So we're just trying to finish out the season strong." Words to live by for all 12 WNBA teams at this point in the season, courtesy of Atlanta's Angel McCoughtry. Unfortunately for Atlanta, the second half didn't start out as planned, losing to the Ly*x Wednesday afternoon in heartbreaking fashion. There's still plenty of basketball to be played. It may not have been the most ideal way to charge into the second half but Atlanta still has a two-game lock on first place in the East. Granted the race for playoff contention remains tight as ever in the conference, but a loss to Minnesota doesn't harm the Dream's intraconference record. With the next three games on the road, against Eastern teams no less, Atlanta will look to open up the lead in the East and potentially sink a few other teams in the process.
Next Three Games: 7/16 at Indiana, 7/17 at Connecticut, 7/21 at Washington

3
Washington (3) 12-6 "One game you're in first, one loss you're in third." That's what head coach Julie Plank had to say following Thursday's loss to the Liberty. Luckily for the Mystics, the one loss didn't drop them in the standings. Washington was holding down second place in the East heading into the game and remained in second despite the poor outcome. If there's one area Plank would like to see her team improve on in the second leg of the season it's protecting the ball. Washington ranks third in the league in turnovers with 17.41 per game. In close games that can make or break a team. Thursday against the Liberty, Washington registered a total of 20 turnovers. That's the risk a team takes when they attempt to spread the ball out across the court. Overall, the game plan is working for Washington. It just needs a little fine tuning.
Next Three Games: 7/18 vs. Chicago, 7/21 vs. Atlanta, 7/24 vs. Indiana

4
Indiana (4) 11-7 Indiana remains the league's top defensive team, holding opponents to an average of 70.61 points per game. If not for such a strong defensive system led by the likes of Tamika Catchings and her league-best 2.72 steals per game, who's to say where the Fever would stand? The trick for Indiana is getting other teams to play their game. Friday night's match against the Atlanta Dream should be an interesting one, as it pits Indy's top defense against the league's number two offense. In two previous meetings this season, the Dream and Fever each captured a win. This matchup has the look and feel of a playoff game.
Next Three Games: 7/16 vs. Atlanta, 7/18 at New York, 7/22 vs. Los Angeles

5
Connecticut (5) 11-8 "We surprisingly gelled kind of quick in the beginning," said Renee Montgomery. "But then we had a couple of players that were injured and we had to 're-gel,' and we're still working on that right now." Well said. Head coach Mike Thibault remained confident in the weeks leading up to the Stars at the Sun weekend that his team would be where he wanted them to be after the break. Knee surgery for Anete Jekabsone-Zogota aside, it would seem to be the case after just one game. But don't overlook the fact that the one game was against the Indiana Fever, an intra-conference team looking to gain some ground. So far on the season, the Sun has a 2-1 series lead over the defensive powerhouse that is Indy. Wednesday's win speaks volumes for the young cores ability to 're-gel' heading into the second half.
Next Three Games: 7/17 vs. Atlanta, 7/20 vs. New York, 7/24 vs. Los Angeles

6
New York (8) 9-9 The pieces are finally starting to come together for the Liberty. The second-half run has already started off with two wins over conference rivals and, most importantly, the Liberty is finding ways to win by varying up the scoring. Maybe Sunday's win over the Sky isn't the best example, a game in which Cappie Pondexter dropped 30 of the team's 57 total points, but the Thursday afternoon match against the Mystics hints at a system looking to spread the ball around a bit more. Yes, Cappie scored 17, but Janel McCarville racked up a 16-12 double-double and rookie Kalana Greene finished with 11. The variation in scoring will ultimately make the Liberty a harder team to defend, which could certainly bode well as New York aims to make a playoff run. The next three games, all of them in the Eastern Conference, will stand as a big test for the Liberty.
Next Three Games: 7/18 vs. Indiana, 7/20 at Connecticut, 7/23 @ Chicago

7
Minnesota (10) 7-11 Minnesota is a textbook example of a team that is just keeps finding ways to survive. Injuries put a damper on the Ly*x's start to the season and just as players looked to be on the mend, a new batch kicked up. On Wednesday, Rebekkah Brunson saved the day for the Ly*x with some last-second heroics and Seimone Augustus showed why she remains one of the purest shooters in the league as she dropped 22. But the part about Minnesota that may still be overlooked; and again, this traces back to the rough start, is just how good the team has been as of late. Minnesota has one five of its last seven, knocking off teams like New York and Atlanta in an effort to piece together win streaks. Now, winners in two straight and the first game of the second half, it's time for the Ly*x to strap in and make a playoff run. Sitting in second place with just a little over a month to play doesn't hurt either.
Next Three Games: 7/17 vs. Seattle, 7/22 vs. San Antonio, 7/24 vs. Phoenix

8
Chicago (7) 9-11 It may be a lot of pressure to put on one player, but Sylvia Fowles is the driving force behind the Chicago Sky. Don't let that disparage the fact that Jia Perkins, Dominique Canty and the rookie Epiphanny Prince are certainly carrying their weight, but when you get down to the bare bones of this playoff-hungry franchise, the team's success starts and ends with Fowles. Chicago didn't come out of the break with a win against the Liberty on Sunday, but they did turn things around in their favor Wednesday afternoon with an 88-61 blowout over the Silver Stars. This of course is a welcome sight, but so to is the ability to let Fowles catch her breath on the bench while some of the reserves received a bit of face time.
Next Three Games: 7/16 vs. Los Angeles, 7/18 at Washington, 7/23 vs. New York

9
Phoenix (6) 7-12 Phoenix, who went into the break with two-straight wins, fought Seattle tooth and nail during a matinee match Wednesday afternoon. Diana Taurasi scored 44 points and Phoenix received 18 points a piece from DeWanna Bonner and Candice Dupree, but in the end the Storm pulled out the win to improve to a perfect 12-0 in the Western Conference, while the Mercury were met with another loss that dropped them to third in the West. One of the positives Phoenix can take from the loss is embedded in the fact that they hung with the league's best team through an entire game and three extra periods of play before coming this close to picking up the win. Debilitating as it may be in the losses column, it should provide ample confidence for Phoenix as they take on the Shock in two straight.
Next Three Games: 7/17 vs. Tulsa, 7/22 at Tulsa, 7/24 at Minnesota

10
San Antonio (9) 6-11 "We’ll just put the first half in the past," said Sophia Young at the Stars at the Sun game last weekend. "We lost a few games that we should have won and we’re not very consistent with what we do, and that’s a little challenging." Not only did the Silver Stars open up the second half of the season with a loss to the Sky, but San Antonio has registered only one win over the last five games. To top it off, the team had a scare right before the break when Becky Hammon left the game against the Ly*x with what was labeled a quad injury. It's not the first time this season Hammon has suffered a leg injury, and it's also not the first time the Silver Stars have tried getting past the injury bug. Ruth Riley, currently out with a broken finger, will provide a little help on the boards once she returns to action over the next two weeks or so. Rookie Jayne Appel, who started the season injured, is slowly but surely working her way into the fold. And although Hammon played Wednesday against the Sky, who's to say if she's fighting through the pain? This team will continue to soldier on with the hopes of having it all figured out by the postseason.
Next Three Games: 7/16 vs. Tulsa, 7/18 vs. Los Angeles, 7/20 vs. Seattle

11
Los Angeles (11) 5-13 Earlier in the season Los Angeles had Candace Parker and Tina Thompson doing the brunt of the work with little help from a supporting cast. With Parker out for the season, LA's game plan had to adapt. Thompson continues to put up her points, averaging 13.8 per game, but players like Noelle Quinn, who has recorded double figures in seven of her last eight games, DeLisha Milton-Jones, who has done the same in six straight, and more recently the rookie Andrea Riley, who dropped 14 Tuesday against the Shock, are starting to chip in as well. As the end of the season quickly approaches, the Sparks are not left with much time to figure it all out. But they have tipped off the second half on the right foot, with a win over the Shock. It's not over yet, and the Sparks have definitely not given up on making a playoff push.
Next Three Games: 7/16 at Chicago, 7/18 at San Antonio, 7/20 vs. Tulsa

12
Tulsa (12) 3-15 There's still time left in the season, so you can't write the Shock off entirely, but as of right now things aren't looking too good. In WNBA.com's 12 Questions for 12 Teams in 2010, the question surrounding the Shock's inaugural season in Tulsa was centered on just how quickly the team could pave a new path. On Tuesday, Los Angeles handed Tulsa its 12th straight loss of the season. Yet despite that downturn, a win at the right time (and a few losses to other teams in the West) can potentially put the Shock in playoff contention.
Next Three Games: 7/16 at San Antonio, 7/17 at Phoenix, 7/20 at Los Angeles

LADY LUCK

Saturday's Best WNBA Bets

Seattle Storm at Minnesota Ly*x (+4.5, 153)

Fans of the letdown spot have been licking their lips since the Seattle Storm went into their third overtime period against the Phoenix Mercury Wednesday night.

Seattle escaped the desert with a 111-107 victory as a 1.5-point road favorite thanks to Sue Bird’s 3-pointer with just over six seconds remaining in the third additional period. That emotional win was a huge marker for the Storm and the rest of their season – especially since it came over the defending WNBA champs.

"It was really long and tiring," Seattle forward Lauren Jackson told the media. "We are lucky that we came away with the win.

"I've been on teams that have lost, in situations like that. It sucks. You just stick it out and Sue hit a massive shot for us."

Now, Seattle must find the energy and the focus not to lay an egg against the Western Conference’s second-best team.

Minnesota has battled its way up the standings, winning five of its last seven games, including a win over the Atlanta Dream – the East’s top team – Wednesday. The Ly*x are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games and will be live dogs at home Saturday afternoon.

Pick: Minnesota Ly*x

Tulsa Shock at Phoenix Mercury (-14, 191)

It’s been an emotional week for the Phoenix Mercury.

Not only did the defending WNBA champs visit the White House Monday but they also suffered a heartbreaking, triple-overtime loss to the Seattle Storm at home Wednesday. This roller-coaster ride could leave Phoenix flat against the WNBA’s worst team Saturday night.

The Tulsa Shock have lost 12 straight outings, dropping them to 3-15 on the year with a dismal 4-14 record against the spread. They are coming off a busy week in which they played Los Angeles Tuesday, San Antonio Friday and Phoenix Saturday night.

"I have never experienced this in the league and honestly I've never heard of any team having as many back-to-backs as we have, period," Shock forward Jennifer Lacy told the Tulsa World. "If we make the playoffs, it's because we have overcome a huge, huge obstacle in the scheduling."

With Tulsa sucking wind and Phoenix licking its wounds, WNBA bettors can expect a lethargic, low-scoring game between two teams on different ends of the conference.

CFL BETTING PREVIEW

Saturday: Edmonton Eskimos at Saskatchewan Roughriders (4:00 p.m. ET, NFLN)

It might be time for Calvillo to pass the torch to Saskatchewan QB Darian Durant. He's already thrown six TDs with no interceptions, and Durant has scrambled for 85 yards on just nine carries. The former North Carolina standout is exactly the kind of dual threat that shines on the expansive CFL field – think of all those great Eskimos teams with Matt Dunigan, Damon Allen and Tracy Ham. The Roughies (2-0 SU and ATS) also rebounded defensively in Week 2, holding the Lions to two-and-out on five of their first seven possessions.

Quarterbacks are still en vogue in Edmonton. Ricky Ray led them to the Grey Cup in 2003 and 2005, and Jason Maas has been a reliable 1A option for years. The Eskimos actually played well against the Alouettes last week, but they had to settle for six field goal attempts by Derek Schiavone (playing for the injured Noel Prefontaine), who made five in a losing effort. They'll have to come up with something better in their first road game of the season. The Eskies are just 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games overall and 7-15-1 ATS in their last 23 against the Green Riders.

Today's Best CFL Bets

Edmonton Eskimos at Saskatchewan Roughriders (-7, 56.5)

The Eskimos are winless after two awful games played at home where they found ingenious ways to shoot themselves in the foot. And now they need to find a replacement to linebacker Mark Restelli, who suffered a knee injury that has got his name on the nine-game injured list.

In a merciless Western Division, the Eskimos can’t afford a third lost in a row. Turnovers have proven costly to the Esks in the first two games, especially against Montreal where bad interceptions and dropped balls have turn a sure win in crushing defeat.

Ricky Ray is still one of the best quarterbacks in Canadian football, but he can’t be expected to win solely on vertical plays. He needs to hand the ball to RB Arkee Whitlock more often and rely on Kamau Peterson and Kelly Campbell to create big plays out of short accurate passes.

Roughriders quarterback Darian Durant has started the season by out-dueling Montreal’s Anthony Calvillo and followed that with a flawless performance against B.C. He already has 733 passing yards after two games - the most in the CFL.

Who wants to bet against these Riders? They will most likely be the only undefeated team in the CFL after Week 3 and Rider Nation will start dreaming of another trip to the Big Game.

Pick: Saskatchewan Roughriders

BETTORS TIPS AND NOTES
Bettor's Best Friend (BBF): Saturday's Wagering Tips

Line Off The Board

Phillies at Cubs – The total for the game is not available due to the uncertainty of wind speed and direction at Wrigley Field. Early forecasts have the wind blowing out to center field at 11 mph.

Lines To Keep An Eye On

Nationals at Marlins – The home squad opened as hefty -230 favorites with Josh Johnson on the bump but a few markets have elevated that moneyline to -250.
Brewers at Braves – Atlanta was installed as a -190 home favorite in this contest but a few boards are offering as high as -215.

Weather Report
(Forecasts are extracted from Weather.com the night before the game.)

Tigers at Indians – The National Weather Service projects a 16 mph wind to blow across the diamond from third to first. There is also a 30 percent chance of rain.
Brewers at Braves – A 50 percent chance of rain is called for.
Nationals at Marlins – The forecast calls for a 17 mph wind to blow in from right-center field.

Who’s Hot

Going into Friday, the Giants had won three straight decisions.
Saskatchewan is 2-0 ATS this year and 5-0 ATS in its last five outings dating back to last season.
Minnesota (WNBA) is 6-2 ATS in its last eight games and 3-0 ATS in last three meetings versus Seattle.

Who’s Not

As of Friday, the Reds had lost four games in a row.
Dallas (AFL) has dropped 10 consecutive games and is 2-8 ATS during the streak.
The Dream (WNBA) are just 1-6 ATS in their last seven games.

Key Trend

8-0 – Tampa Bay record in Jeff Niemann’s last eight road starts. The Rays are +118 dogs in New York on Saturday.

Injury That Shouldn’t Be Overlooked

The Twins placed first baseman Justin Morneau on the 15-day disabled list and recalled righthander Jeff Manship. The move is retroactive to July 8; one day after Morneau suffered a concussion taking a knee to the head while sliding into second base. He worked out on an elliptical machine Thursday but experienced "fogginess." Morneau is hitting .345 with 18 homers and 56 RBIs this season.

Game Of The Day

Edmonton Eskimos at Saskatchewan Roughriders (-7, 56.5)

Notable Quotable

“As far as Steinbrenner’s passing? Good. Trust me, if hell freezes over, he’ll be skating. He said I was an incompetent and I was bad for the game of baseball. Well, I’m not a convicted felon like George Steinbrenner, and he’ll take that to his grave.”
-- Former Red Sox pitcher Bill Lee said of George Steinbrenner’s passing during an interview with WMUR TV on Thursday.

Tips And Notes

- Louis Oosthuizen’s five-stroke lead is the largest 36-hole margin at the Open Championship since Bobby Clampett held the same lead at Royal Troon in 1982. No PGA Tour player has held a five-stroke lead in an event since 2006 when Tiger Woods led by that amount at the WGC Championship. This season, the second-round leader/co-leader has gone on to win 10 of 28 events on the PGA circuit. When the British Open has been held at St. Andrews, the last four 36-hole leaders have gone on to win the major.

- Indians shortstop Jhonny Peralta was not in the starting lineup for Friday’s game because of a fever. And when illnesses start floating around clubhouses bettors should take caution. Making matters worse, Cleveland played a late game Friday and then has an early, 1:05 p.m. (ET) start Saturday which is the first leg of a doubleheader. The Tribe have lost six of their last seven games and if the fever spreads, they could be quite fatigued by Game 2 on Saturday.

- The world’s No. 3 golfer, Lee Westwood, is within striking distance at the British Open six shots off the lead but feels like he should be much closer. Westwood said after shooting 1-under on Friday, “I should really be 10-under at worst.” The Englishman has the tools to win a major, finishing just one shot out of the two-man playoff last year at Turnberry. Westwood made 17 pars and one birdie in challenging weather conditions at the Old Course Friday and is getting +500 odds to win the tournament.

7:10 est | 921 DETROIT TIGERS | (R) Porcello | -122 |

We like the matchup here with Rick Porcello returning to Detroit after working on mechanics in AAA Toledo. We look for Porcello to get more on strikes (K) and look sharp in his return. He has never dished out many passes (BB).

We see this line at -133 + by game time.

Hondo

Hondo ended up treading water last night when he was hosed by the White Sox, which offset his win with the Reds and left the deficit holding at 1,005 willoughbys.

Tonight, he'll send Cahill to the mound in K.C. and leave it to some Lackey in Boston -- 10 units apiece on the A's and Sawx.
